Just finished volume 1 and it’s not a bad read but there are moments that ask you to suspend your disbelief regarding how levels interact. Like when the MC and his party of 4 levelled 26-30 manage to virtually 1 shot a lvl 81, or how with a lvl 25 defense specialized staff the MC a mage type character, can fully block a lvl 99 boss’s weakest attack infinitely. It just dragged me out of the story at that point.
does romance actually flesh out here? confession? dating? marriage? kids?
I just finished this series with the end of Vol. 6 the other night. While the ending was abrupt after only one year at school + summer vacation it was well rounded up and our MC Ren reaching every goal he’s had makes it a rather wholesome read.
In general it was a fast paced and short read but through this it also never was boring. I personally would have wished that some things would have been a bit more fleshed out. The focus however is the main story and there are a lot of things going on.
(Each volume here is on the shorter spectrum, though. They could have been done with 3 volumes, no problem).
And while, like all good literature should, the VRMORPG system takes it’s freedom’s from really functioning gaming systems to make it more interesting it becomes clear that the author actually spent (as he states) way over 10k hours playing MMORPG’s and knows what he is writing about.
Is this completed at Volume 6? Or are there more volumes?
In the afterword it says the story is finished and Vol. 6 was the last one.
The author has another (longer) series with Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire ♀ that seems to be longer.
